I always wanted to do a fall photo shoot. I absolutely love this time of year; the cold air, the autumn colors and the way people dress with the weather! I got my opportunity when my sister, Judy and brother in law, Gavin went to Jamaica for their honeymoon. Check out their awesome adventures! When they left, I was given the Canon 60D with 24mm to use =]. I think… they should go on vacations more often! While Gudy was gone, my girlfriend was also out of town because of school =[. So I asked her sister Sydney and luckily she was down. So tell me what do you think! Leave comments and/or critiques… I do plan on doing another session but with the colorful trees later this season! Pictures were taken on this bridge over the 10 freeway.
Meet Sydney Chow. She and I have worked together before. It was at Santa Monica Beach trying to show off Kathy Truong’s clothes. Check out what shes making at ktruong.com
These are my favorite set of pictures
Looks like I’m pulling a “Judy” with this post! Quick sidenote: “Judy” for those of you who does not know is my older sister who does a majority of her post production and blogging around this time. Her pictures turn out amazing every time check out her beautiful family sessions, I guess its her skills maybe…. its the middle of the night editing. Either or, I decide to try it for once see how it goes. This is the Giglia family. This family session would make it TRES! The last few family sessions, they all turned out to be lots fun, with all the babies, cuteness, and silliness. Its the perfect time to be goofy and test out what’s funny and what’s not. By the time my sister has a kid… I will be a master at making babies smile!!!!
Meet the Giglia family.
and Lauren with puppy eyes! @Judy…. I really want a niece!!!!!!!!
Well I guess PJ likes silly faces most.
Peian and Branden.
I got a pretty cool experience outta the couple session on that day! I drove a golf cart for the first time!!! AND who can say I lift a golf cart..? THIS GUY, that is in the picture. Yep. Yep, that is me… Damn tricky mirrors!
I wish I had more time to get to know Peian & Branden, because from what I could tell from the day they seem like real cool people!
OH OH! I GOT TO SAY BRANDEN MADE THE SICKEST SLIDESHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN! I heard like… 6-7 months went into it? I wish it was online for me to show!
AWWW she got all teary during their first look.
Thank you for having me Peian and Branden! I wish you the very best! =]
You guys HAVE to check out my sisters awesome pictures! She did such a great job!!!
Oh and Doug for the letting me borrow the 7D for the night! If you’re reading this! =]
Meet the “HOT” couple. Hot is in quotes because my sister, Judy, kept repeating the words “that’s hot” throughout the whole day! AND It wasn’t like the day was 90 something degrees, but Valerie and Addison truly make a BEAUTIFUL couple. They also have a cool, goofy, and caring personality to complement their good-looking…ness. Maybe some would describe them as a power house couple if they were in school…? MAYBE they still are…. hint hint… that’s right. Valerie and Addison are a dynamic duo not as students but as faculty members at school. Valerie is a 8th grade teacher and Addison is a physical education teacher. Picture time! These pictures were taken in San Clemente at the Beach Historic Cottage.
Went down for a hike and took pictures on the beach of San Clemente right below the state historic cottage
The majority of the weddings that I have done over the past year, I’ve shot couples without ever meeting them prior to the wedding. Well, Christina & George are my first (what I call) “full couple.” I was there for the engagement session and I was there at the wedding. I feel like there’s a real big difference in shooting a couple that you feel like you know, than shooting a couple you met that day. During an engagement session, many different topics of conversation comes up. Topics about the details of their lives, like how they met, who made the first move, and how they plan on spending the rest of their lives together makes a real difference. I know for me, it makes every picture I take that much more personal. And makes me want push myself a little more that day. So hopefully this year, I’ll get more “full couples.” Enough talk PICTURE TIME! These pictures were taken a the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden!
Thanks for having me, Christina and George! AND OF COURSE! THANK YOU Judy/big sis! for letting me tag along! =] Check out her beautiful photography skills!
Its been about a year since I first shoot with my beautiful girlfriend, Samantha Chow! Looking at my pictures back then and now is kind of funny. I used a lot of photoshop back then, lots of color alteration and stuff… I guess over the year I’ve developed a taste for natural colors, which is good I hope. On this shoot, I was hoping to have remote lighting, but I couldn’t get it to work for some reason. It just would not sync up… pretty disappointing. So I went back to what I know, using the flash. These images were taken under The Santa Monica Pier. And here’sss Samantha Chow!
It’s been way too long since my last post! Usually people make their new year’s resolution at the beginning of the year, but for me, I start in September. This is only because I am still a student and I’d say my year begins with school starts. Then I use the actual New Years Day as a reminder! For my New School Year resolution! I vow to SHOOT MORE AND BE MORE ACTIVE WITH MY WEBSITE!!!!
Better later than never, I guess! This is Christina and George! I will be assisting sister once again for their wedding this coming Sunday! =]
We started off in this huge field of yellow flowers. kidding kidding! There wasn’t actually a big field of flowers… it was a small patch. Amazing how a photo could do deceive right??
We actually started at this park in San Pedro where the Korean bell of friendship is.
then the cuteness continued, with a romantic picnic!
Korean Bell of Friendship.
We suffered some casualties but I remembered my assistants’ creed Tthis is my light stand! There is many like it but this one is Gavins ! Without me it is useless and it i’ll have to manage without lighting… etc etc… PROTECT IT WITH YOUR LIFE!” and the equipment was saved!
Thank you Judy Tran (my big sis), for letting me tag along! I’m looking forward to Christina and George’s wedding!
